Something Strange and Deadly - Susan Dennard

Something Strange and Deadly (Something Strange and Deadly, #1)

If you are a fan of mystery, zombies, and a bit of romance in all the action, Something Strange and Deadly is for you!

The Cover:

It's so pretty and fits with the story. It goes perfect for the time setting of the story and she just looks so pretty! I also love the background. It looks like she is in a forest or something. I give it a...

The Plot: (what Goodreads says)

The year is 1876, and there’s something strange and deadly loose in Philadelphia…

Eleanor Fitt has a lot to worry about. Her brother has gone missing, her family has fallen on hard times, and her mother is determined to marry her off to any rich young man who walks by. But this is nothing compared to what she’s just read in the newspaper—

The Dead are rising in Philadelphia.

And then, in a frightening attack, a zombie delivers a letter to Eleanor…from her brother.

Whoever is controlling the Dead army has taken her brother as well. If Eleanor is going to find him, she’ll have to venture into the lab of the notorious Spirit-Hunters, who protect the city from supernatural forces. But as Eleanor spends more time with the Spirit-Hunters, including their maddeningly stubborn yet handsome inventor, Daniel, the situation becomes dire. And now, not only is her reputation on the line, but her very life may hang in the balance.

My Review:

Okay, so... I loved this book! I can't wait to read the sequel and i hope the spirit hunters come back or Eleanor finds them!
Okay so i loved Eleanor! She was so true to herself and didn't fall for anybodies tricks or lies. She wanted the answer the the mystery and wanted to find her brother, Elijah.
So, Daniel. I loved him! Perfect dude character ever! He was rude, he was hot, he was mean, he was hot, he saved Eleanor. I loved how Daniel was described and the way i picture him he is H.O.T! Loved his character. He acted like he didn't care yet he TOTALLY did.
The spirit hunters were awesome! I loved all the characters, even Elijah. Yes, I liked Elijah. I don't care if he was... umm i shouldn't say so nevermind!
Loved the book and can't wait to read the sequel so i give this book a.....

The Author!

Here you go, right from Susan Dennard's blog bio: I’m a 29-year-old reader, writer, lover of animals, and eater of cookies. I used to be a marine biologist, but now I write novels. And not novels about fish either, but novels about kick-butt heroines and swoon-worthy rogues (I really like swoon-worthy rogues).
I live in the Midwestern US with my French husband and Irish setter, and you can learn more about my crazy thoughts and crippling cookie-addiction on twitterfacebook, or Goodreads.
My debut, Something Strange and Deadly,  is now available from HarperTeen along with its sequel, A Darkness Strange and Lovely.
